*** My Antonia by Willa Cather (2001, orig. 1918)

There’s a reason my daughter is named Anne.  I wanted Antonia, but we compromised on Anne, and either way decided we’d call her Annie.  This is an all-time favorite and one that I read every couple of years.  Her life on the prairie pulls me in every time.  I think it reminds me of my childhood days of reading the Little House books over and over.
