I love this quote from the back cover of the book: “if Willa Cather and Gabriel Garcia Marquez had collaborated on a book, The Snow Child would be it.”

I don’t think Ivey’s writing is quite that caliber, but the combination of settling untamed wilderness like Cather’s writing and infusing it with magical realism like Marquez, is indeed a a good recipe for a book.
