** Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder (2004)

I love Kidder’s writing–he always makes non-fiction read like fiction.  This is a story about Paul Farmer, an infectious disease specialist working in Haiti.  His passion and his commitment to medicine and the poor is overwhelming.  At times, I question his philosophy, but he is a most admirable person and this is a fascinating true story.
